This is a stunning large copy of the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual completed in the Byzantine style and method of painting. Beautiful rich vibrant colors and aged worn appearance. The high quality replica rendition is completed on a heavy solid wood board with a thick wood backing. There is wear, losses and markings as seen in the photos. A metal crown with faux stones has been overlaid on top of Jesus' head. A similar crown would have also been on top of Mary's head but this is no longer present and remnants of mounting are visible. The back has a label that dates (October 1962) and numbers the icon, it was produced in Rome, Italy. Measures 21 inches high, 16.5 inches wide and 1 inch deep. Weighs 7 pounds.
