Charming British Made Travel Antique Edwardian Leather Briefcase Attache

This is a fantastic British made leather travel attache document briefcase with interesting provenance to a known author. Stamped and manufactured by FISHER The Strand London, a well known maker of high end goods of the period. Very ergonomic with a high level of craftsmanship in the leather work. Beautiful working button release metal clasp, unfortunately there is no key. The clasp is beautifully engraved with the original owners name . This reads Lewis Appleton, 15 Old Quebec Street, Marble Arch, London. Appleton was a famous author, he wrote Memoirs of Henry Richard - The Apostle of Peace , The Foreign Policy of 1892 and other books .
The front has a nice pair of working straps and buckles with a leather fishtail carrying handle. This piece likely dates to around 1900. Good external condition with age related wear and signs of use that present a lovely time worn finish. The attache has a concertina section inside and one side has worn through in 2 places . There is some wear/splitting on the inside of the cover. Please review photos for further assessment. This item does have an aged odor which is inherent of natural leather.
Measures 15.5 inches wide, 10.5 inches high, 2.25 inches deep. This makes a great decorator piece for a desk or shelf and could also be used as originally intended being mindful of the internal compartment wear.
